I’ve traveled trans-Atantic, to over 15 different countries, and many more cities, all as a broke-ass college student. People and friends all the time say, “Jealous!” or “I want to come! or “How do you get to travel so much?” Well, they can, but when given the opportunity to take
an exotic a fucking awesome trip with me, they always come up with an excuse not to go. But, How? They’re twenty-something years old, and can’t explore even their own country?! This absolutely makes me question people’s lives. Don’t tell me you want to come on the next trip with me, only to say, when given the opportunity, “Oh, I don’t have the money,” or “I can’t take off work.” Bitch, I work three part time jobs for minimum wage, and still manage to be able to travel over a weekend. There is no need to take an days off work.
Over the past three months, I have been to Las Vegas three times, all last minute decisions to take a trip. ((And, might I add, all less than $200)) Yet still, none of my twenty-something year old friends will come with me.
Whaaaaaaa? They’ve never even bee before! This is the exact time you should be taking spur of the moment opportunities! The job you have now is not going to be the job you stay at for the next 40 years. Chances are, it’s not even a job that has anything to do with your interest or what you studied in college!
Your twenties are your selfish years. It’s a decade to immerse yourself in every single thing possible. Be selfish with your time, and all the aspects of you. Tinker with shit, travel, explore, love a lot, love a little, and never touch the ground.
Take every opportunity that comes your way. Stop asking “Why” and start asking “Why not?”
